Tourism Conclave 2025 held in Jaffna

The Consulate General of India in Jaffna has organized a Tourism Conclave 2025 jointly with the Northern Province Tourism Bureau of Sri Lanka on 18th June 2025 from 9.00 am onwards at the Jaffna Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre. The main objective of the programme is to promote and facilitate meaningful tourism engagement among tourism stakeholders from Southern States of India and Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

The Conclave was commenced with the Remarks made by Shri.Sai Murali S. - Hon. Consul General of India in Jaffna and Mr.A.Pathinathan – Chairman of the Northern Province Tourism Bureau. A presentation on Tourism Potentials in Northern Province was presented by an official of Northern Provine Tourism Bureau.

Officials of Northern Province Tourism Bureau, tourism stakeholders from Northern Province and representatives from Tourism Boards of South Indian states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Union Territory of Puducherry and  Nagapaddinam district. Then knowledge sharing sessions were held with the participation of Mr.Sriharan Balan – Chairman of South India Chamber of Commerce (Tourism) & Managing Director of Madura Group, Mrs.T.Devaki – Chairperson of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) & Managing Director of Avocet Tours and Travels (Pvt.) Ltd, and Mr.K.Pandian – Chairman of Indian Association of Tour Operators & Director of Cholan Tours (Pvt.) Ltd. shared their vast experiences in tourism and travel industry with Northern Province tour operators.
