The Second Training Program on Sea Shell Craft for Souvenir Making Entrepreneurs Successfully Concluded in Mullaitivu

Under the Northern Province Specific Development Grant (NPSDG), a specialized training program titled "Training for Small-Scale Entrepreneurs Engaged in Souvenir Production" was successfully conducted in the Mullaitivu district.

The two-day workshop, held on December 19th and 20th, 2025, focused specifically on crafting souvenirs using sea shells. A total of 26 beneficiaries from the Mullaitivu district participated in this initiative.

The participants included 15 trainees currently enrolled under the Northern Province Department of Rural Development, while the remaining participants were existing entrepreneurs engaged in primary and small-scale handicraft production.

The training program was conducted effectively over two days, providing valuable technical skills to the attendees. The initiative has significantly benefited the participants, enhancing their ability to create marketable souvenirs using local marine resources.

The First Programmed was already conducted in manner district during the month of June 2025.   

வடமாகாண குறித்தொதுக்கப்பட்ட அபிவிருத்தி கொடை நிதியின் (NPSDG) அனுசரணையில், சுற்றுலாத் துறையை மேம்படுத்தும் நோக்கில் "நினைவுப் பொருட்கள் தயாரிப்பதில் ஈடுபடும் சிறிய அளவிலான தொழில் முயற்சியாளர்களுக்கான விசேட பயிற்சி நெறி" முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தில் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.

கடந்த 2025 டிசம்பர் 19 மற்றும் 20 ஆம் திகதிகளில் நடைபெற்ற இப்பயிற்சி நெறியானது, பிரதானமாக கடல் சிப்பிகள் மற்றும் சோகிகளைக் கொண்டு கவர்ச்சிகரமான நினைவுப் பொருட்களைத் தயாரிப்பதை மையமாகக் கொண்டிருந்தது. முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்த 26 பயனாளர்கள் இதில் ஆர்வத்துடன் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

இப்பயிற்சியில் கலந்துகொண்டவர்களுள் 15 பேர் வடமாகாண கிராம அபிவிருத்தி திணைக்களத்தின் கீழ் தற்பொழுது வெவ்வேறு பயிற்சிகளையும் பெற்று வருபவர்களாகக் காணப்படுவதோடு ஏனையவர்கள் ஆரம்ப மற்றும் சிறியளவிலான கைவினைப் பொருட்கள் தயாரிப்பில் ஏற்கனவே ஈடுபட்டுவரும் தொழில் முயற்சியாளர்களாவர்.

இரண்டு நாட்கள் நடைபெற்ற இப்பயிற்சி நெறியானது மிகவும் பயனுள்ள வகையில் அமைந்ததோடு, பயனாளர்கள் கடல் சார் மூலப்பொருட்களைக் கொண்டு பெறுமதி வாய்ந்த நினைவுப் பொருட்களைத் தயாரிப்பதில் சிறந்த தேர்ச்சியினையும் பெற்றுக்கொண்டமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
