Identification of tourism development activities held at Maritimepattu division

A preliminary discussion and site inspection was held on 24th January 2025 from 10.00am onwards at Siththaru and Puliyamunai areas in Maritimepattu division in Mullaithivu district to identify potential development requirements in tourism sector.

During this field visit and discussion, District Secretary of Mullaithivu District Secretariat Mr.A.Umamaheswaran, Chairman of the Northern Province Tourism Bureau Mr.A.Pathinathan, Additional District Secretary of Mullaithivu Mr.A.Gunapalan,  Assistant Commissioner of Local Government – Mullaithivu Mr.S.Jesinthan, Assistant Director of Planning at Maritimepattu Divisional Secretariat Mr.S.Kajarathan, Secretary to the Maritimepattu Pradeshiya Sabha Mrs.R.Jeyakumar, and officials from District Secretariat – Mullaithivu, Tourism Bureau of Northern Province and Maritimepattu Pradeshiya Sabha have participated. The team identified some immediate needs of both areas to provide better services to the visiting tourists.
