Cultural and Vintage vehicle parade organised to mark the World Tourism Day 2024

In order to mark World Tourism Day 2024, Northern Province Tourism Bureau has organized a cultural and vintage vehicle parade on 15th December 2024 commenced at 3.00pm. The parade was inaugurated by Mr.L.Ilaangovan – Chief Secretary to the Northern Province and Mr.A.Sivapalasundran – former District Secretary of Jaffna, Mrs.K.Kanchana – Director of Northern Province Tourism Bureau and Mr.S.Mohanabavan – former Director of Tourism Bureau. The parade started infront of Jaffna Public Library and travel through Jaffna city and concluded at Jaffna Pannai area. Different types of cultural performances including ‘Inniyam’ (traditional band parade), ‘Mayiladdam’, ‘Oyiladdam’, ‘Pommaladdam’, ‘Karakaddam’, ‘Koladdam’, ‘Kavadiyaddam’, ‘Silambaddam’ and dressing parade of ancient personalities held at the parade. More than 19 vintage vehicles also participated at the parade.
