Certificates awarded to successful participants

Northern Province Tourism Bureau had conducted technical training programmes to micro and small entrepreneurs who involve in souvenir making. Training programmes have been conducted in souvenir making by using sea-shells, timbers and palmyrah leaves. Skillful craftsmen conducted these training programmes provided several inputs to uplift the standards of the final products.

Certificate awarding ceremony held on 28th December 2024 at 10.00am at the Skills Development Centre, Kaithady, Jaffna. Mr.A.Pathinathan – Chairman of the Tourism Bureau delivered the welcome address. Mrs.E.Anton Yoganayagam – Deputy Chief Secretary – Provincial Public Administration participated as the Chief Guest, Mr.S.Pranavanathan – Secretary to the Ministry of Local Government – Northern Province as the Guest of Honour and Mrs.B.Kajani – Director of Rural Development Department – Northern Province as special guest. 12 participants who trained in Sea-shells, 18 trained in Timber and 29 trained in Palmyrah leaves have been awarded the certificates. Mrs.K.Kanchana – Director of the Tourism Bureau delivered the vote of thanks.

In order to mark the World Tourism Day 2024, an art competition and a photographic competition have been conducted in all five districts. Art competition conducted through the Department of Rural Development and the Photographic competition conducted through the Department of Local Government. District wise first three winners have also been awarded certificates at the ceremony.
