Capacity Development Programme concluded successfully

Chief Minister’s Ministry of Northern Province organized a three days programme on Capacity Development for Tourism sector service providers. First day of the training programme was held from 8.30am to 6.00pm on 05th November 2017 at Jaffna Public Library Auditorium. Next two days also held on 12th and 19th November 2017 at the same venue. Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs provided the support to conduct this three days training programme.

To improve the quality and standard of tourism services and facilities to enhance satisfaction of tourists is one of the main objectives of the Programme. Target group of the programme comprises of Taxi drivers, three wheeler drivers, several types of handicraftsman and Guest house owners and employees have participated.

During this three days programme, Professor T.Velnamby – Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Jaffna, Dr.S.Sivesan, Senior Lecturer at the University of Jaffna, Mr.G.Sathees – Public Health Inspector and Lecturer and Ms.Sindubamini, Sub-Inspector from Jaffna Police Station participated as Resource Persons for this training programme.

Mr.S.Sivapala Director - Planning of the Chief Minister’s Ministry delivered the concluding remarks. Certificates and Northern tourism related publications and promotional materials were also handed over to the participants.
