A Cultural Tourism Spot established at Sithamparapuram area

Religious activities and cultural festivals are an important aspect of the people’s life in the Northern Province. The grandeur of Tamil culture and Hinduism is blend and visible in this area. Many visitors from other parts of the country and foreign countries visited to Northern Province to witness these activities.

A cultural tourism spot has been established at Sithamparapuram area which comes under the purview of Vavuniya South Tamil Pradeshiya Sabha. Hon. Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council Justice C.V.Wigneswaran participated at an event held on 03rd February 2017 and declared open the site. Mrs.S.Kishore, Secretary to the Vavuniya South Tamil Pradeshiya Sabha chaired the event. Hon. Minister of Health Dr.P.Sathiyalingam, Members of Northern Provincial Council Mr.K.T.Linganathan, S.Mayuran and Mr.A.Jayathilake also participated at this event. Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Ministry Mrs.V.Ketheeswaran, Commissioner to the Department of Local Government Mr.P.Kuganathan, Assistant Commissioner of Local Government – Vavuniya and higher officials from Chief Minister’s Ministry also participated at this ceremony.
