Kantharodai is a suburb near Chunnakam in the Jaffna Peninsula. A group of Dagobas situated with in close proximity of each other.
The site was discovered in 1916 by Sir Paul Pieris who conducted the first excavations there. During the course of excavation, more than 50 small size stupas were unearth. A slap of stone with a sacred foot print on it was also found in this site. The diameter of the base of each is about 2.5 m and the height about 3.5 m. The finials of the stupas are made of limestone.
