This huge Church which is situated at Pesalai was constructed about 200 years ago by Oratorian priests in Oratorian design. The principal object seen at this church is the attractive throne. It is said that a box which was found floating in the Pesalai sea contained three statues with a note. It was stated in the note that the statue of the Lady of Victory carrying infant Jesus in her arms was meant for the aforesaid Church, that the Rasaille Matha statue was meant for the Church in Mannar and the decorative Matha statue was meant for the Thoddakdu Church respectively. On the 8th December each year the high festival in remembrance of Virgin Mary is celebrated in a grand manner. You can find an almost two hundred years old ‘Mahila’ tree with rich foliage in the Church compound. From Mannar travel though Talaimannar Road to Thoddaveli Junction and then to Vankalaipadu Junction - Pesalai Junction. At Pesalai junction there is a lane towards the Church of Lady Victory. It is in the Mannar Town DS division
