Ram’s bridge is also known as Adam’s bridge. In Ramayana, Lord Rama from India constructed this bridge with the assistance of Hanumanji, and came to Sri Lanka through this bridge. It is a chain of limestone shoals, between Pamban island, and also known as Rameswaram island, off the southeastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India and Mannar island, off the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka. Geological evidence suggests that this bridge is a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka. The length of the bridge was 28.8 km and separates the Gulf of Mannar from the Palk Strait. It is close to Thalaimannar town
