Promotional activity held at Aruvi Aru tourism zone

Northern Province Tourism Bureau conducted a promotional activity to promote Aruvi Aru tourism zone which consist the tourism sites of Thekkam anicut, Hanging bridge and Sluice gates. This promotional programme was held on 08th April 2025 at Aruvi Aru Restaurant with the participation of Mr.K.Kanakeswaran – District Secretary – Mannar as the Chief Guest and Eng.Moriase - Executive Engineer of Road Development Authority - Mannar and Dr.Ravi Pachchek - Medical Officer of Health – Nanaddan as special guests. Chief Guest and special guests unveil the name board regarding Aruvi Aru Tourism Zone at the Kunchukulam junction and then opened the renovated hanging bridge.

As a part of the promotional activity, a discussion was held at the Aruvi Aru Restaurant. Chairman of the Tourism Bureau Mr.A.Pathinathan delivered the inaugural speech. He explained about the significance of the Aruvi Aru, Thekkam anicut, Sluice gates and hanging bridge. Then a presentation was made on potential opportunities of tourism sector in Mannar district. Promotional video on Mannar district tourism was also displayed to the audience. Then Mannar District Secretary made his remarks on importance of tourism development for economic advancement in Mannar district. Finally, Secretary to the Nanaddan Pradeshiya Sabha delivered vote of thanks.
