Initial discussion held to identify potential development activities at Thekkam area

In order to develop an eco tourism destination at Thekkam and Hanging bridge areas under Nanaddan Pradeshiya Sabha, an initial discussion was held on 05th February 2024 from 10.00am onwards, under the Chairmanship of Mr.A.Pathinathan – Chairman of Northern Province Tourism Bureau.

Secretary and Technical Officer of the Nanaddan Pradeshiya Sabha, officials from Assistant Commissioner of Local Government – Mannar office and Tourism Bureau of Northern Province also participated at the discussion.

The team visited to the areas of Thekkam anicut, 5 sluice gate, Hanging bridge and Cafeteria near Hanging bridge and identify the immediate needs of the area. Also they discussed regarding the activities which could promote this area among domestic and foreign tourists.
